Summary, etc.	Con Los lanzallamas, Roberto Arlt intensifica su forma de interpretar el caos y la incertidumbre del mundo contemporáneo, cerrando la historia de Erdosain y el Astrólogo iniciada en Los siete locos. Erdosain se convierte en cierto modo en la víctima del Astrólogo, que se revela como un competente gerente de la monstruosidad, un nuevo dios: el engañador.<br/>El autor describe un entramado social en donde no existen valores ni principios, y en el que habita en sus personajes una angustia metafísica tal que inunda el relato desde el comienzo hasta el final. En Los lanzallamas la aniquilación es puramente racional y científica, pasando de ser una simple táctica de victoria a un uso desmedido y extremo de la violencia con consecuencias nefastas.
