Summary, etc.	La función social de la mujer en un pueblo español a principios del S. XX parece estar condenada a las labores domésticas y a la maternidad, delineando bajo esta perspectiva la estructura familiar. <br/>La pieza teatral que da cuerpo a este libro, fue escrita por Federico García Lorca en el año 1934 y puesta en escena en Madrid bajo la interpretación de Margarita Xirgu.<br/>En Yerma los prejuicios sociales toman cuerpo en el personaje femenino que da nombre a la obra y van construyendo la narración a través de sus padecimientos y reflexiones. Yerma tiene un único proyecto en el que se entremezclan el deseo personal y el mandato social: ser madre.<br/>Un matrimonio sin deseo ni amor, un marido estéril, y la presencia de un antiguo pretendiente, se combinan para desarrollar un argumento teñido de tragedia y sutil crítica a una identidad femenina intrísecamente ligada al orden social establecido.<br/>
